Lipobind review - does Lipobind work?

What is Lipobind?

does-Lipobind-work-img1According to the manufacturer, Lipobind is a fat binding diet pill which cuts a percentage of fat from regular meals.

Lipobind has been a long time feature in the line up of diet pills available at Boots, and is manufactured by Goldshield who are also behind the seaweed based appetite suppressant Appesat.

In addition to Boots, Lipobind is also available online from reputable stores such as Evolution Slimming for around £24.99.

Lipobind has also made an appearance in a number of TV adverts and has enjoyed full page articles in many newspapers. However the reputation of Lipobind has been called into question after the Advertising Standards Agency (ASA) warned Goldshield over some of its fat busting claims.

The ASA reported that most of the Lipobind clinical trial evidence was insufficient, and mainly tested on hamsters and guinea pigs, and not human subjects. The ASA swiftly banned Goldshield from stating that the product could bind fat, but allowed them to advertise it as a weight management tool.

Does Lipobind work?

While the science behind fat binders is still in its infancy, products such as Lipobind, Alli, and Proactol all enjoy impressive sales figures here in the UK.

does-Lipobind-work-img2One of the reasons behind this is the appeal that you could potentially lose weight without making any changes to your regular diet. This is a very enticing prospect for many as finding time to eat healthily, prepare balanced meals, and get enough exercise can be extremely difficult for those with a modern and busy lifestyle.

However, many leading health experts agree that fat binders are unlikely to offer any real long term weight loss results, as you would need to take them forever to prevent any weight from quickly returning once you stop taking the product (commonly known as yo-yo dieting).

There is also the view that fat binders do not really lower calorie intake, so results will be relatively poor unless you are already close to your maintenance level of calories.

So what really works?

While we all know that there is no magic pill that will melt away the pounds, there are supplements which will help you cut down on calorie intake - leading to a dependable and quick way to lose weight.

Appetite suppressants outsell any other type of diet pill as they help you to follow a low calorie diet, without feeling cravings which can often cause a diet to fail before it really gets off the ground.

Appetite suppressants can also re-train long term eating habits as the stomach naturally shrinks in size when calories are reduced.

Proactol is generally recommended as one of the best appetite suppressants, as it contains 100% natural ingredients and is clinically proven to help you cut calorie intake.
